Save the investigation result and obtain a new report. Compare the exact field and date you challenged with the original; 'verified' does not explain every piece of evidence considered.
Check the underlying records
Read your first submission again. Did it name the month, status, or balance precisely? Does the evidence prove the correct fact for that same reporting date? Ask the furnisher for a ledger or written explanation if its records are central to the disagreement.
Take the next step
Send a focused direct dispute to the furnisher and submit relevant new information to the bureau where appropriate. If ordinary channels have not fixed a documented error, consider a CFPB complaint or qualified consumer-law counsel for substantial harm.
Know the limits
Repeated generic disputes with no new facts can waste time. Keep a clear timeline of submissions, responses, and the unresolved contradiction.
